Introduction:


In addition to the predefined Pre-Chat survey, LivePerson allows you to create your own customized Pre-Chat Survey.
Creating  a customized Pre-chat survey allows you to apply your own design  create your own set of questions and use specific Custom Variables within the survey.  

Instructions:


To create a customized Pre-Chat survey:
  1. Create a new web page with the questions and the design you require (use the code exmaple below)

  2. Log into the Admin Console
  3. Click  Visitor Experience > Chat > Buttons tab
  4. Click New Chat Button to create a new button, and fill in the requested details
    OR
    Enter an existing button by clicking on its name (under the Chat Button Library section)
  5. Click the Advanced Options tab
  6. Click New Tracking Variable
    The Define New Tracking Variable dialog box is displayed
  7. Type onlineURL into the Name field
  8. Enter into the Value field the URL address of the custom survey that you created
    For examplehttp://www.yoursite.com/prechat.html
  9. From the Scope drop down list, select Click
  10. Click Add
  11. Click Save to Library
Next time the visitors click to chat with your agents, a customized survey will be displayed.
