A segment is a group of visitors that match a specific behavior pattern or characteristics. It is defined by a set of conditions.

Use conditions from the "Targeting toolbox" to modify the predefined segment templates or build your own segment.

Targeting toolbox conditions are:

  • Viewed pages:
     Includes or excludes visitors that visited a specific page on your site.
  • External pages: 
    Includes visitors that came to your site after visiting a specified external site.
  • Search keywords:
    Includes or excludes visitors that used specific keywords in search engines to find and enter your site.
  • Time on page:
    Includes visitors that are browsing the specified site pages,  for more than a defined amount of time.
  • Time on site:
    Includes visitors that are browsing your site for more than a defined amount of time.
  • In page:
    Includes visitors that are currently browsing specific pages.
  • Line of business: 
    Includes visitors that are currently browsing one of the pages that are defined (through the Admin console) as a "room".
  • Navigation flow:
    Includes visitors that browsed your site and behaved according to a specified pattern.
  • Custom variables:
    Includes or excludes visitors by the values of the specified session variables. (for example:
    visitor's cart value)
  • Assigned segments:
    Includes or excludes visitors that have been assigned to another segment.
    This condition enables you to reuse existing sets of conditions without the need to rewrite a whole set of existing conditions.
  • New / Returning visitor:
    Includes either visitors who already visited your site in the past, or new visitors that never
    visited your site before.
  • Geolocation:
    Includes or excludes visitors from specified states or countries.
  • Custom variable set:
    Includes or excludes visitors that have a specified session variable, regardless, of its value.
    (in contrast with "Custom variables" condition that checks the value of the variable)
  • Social referral:
    Includes or excludes visitors that were referred to your site from specified social networks.
  • Voice invitation:
    Includes visitors who were or were not invited to a call.
    If you choose to include invited visitors, you can also filter them by their response to the call invitation (whether they accepted, refused or ignored the invitation).
    Note: This condition is only available for customers that use the voice feature.
  • Chat invitation:
    Includes visitors who were or were not invited to a chat.
    If you choose to include invited visitors, you can also filter them by their response to the chat invitation (whether they accepted, refused or ignored the invitation).
  • Chatted:
    Includes either visitors that chatted with your representative in the current session, or visitors that didn't yet chat.
  • Talked:
    Includes either visitors that talked with your representative in the current session, or visitors that didn't yet talk.
    Note: This condition is only available for customers that use the voice feature.
  • Cart value:
    Includes visitors whose carts value is between the specified value range.
  • Exclude IPs:
    Excludes visitors whose IP is between the specified IP range.
